Designated Survivor” premiered episode 2 this week in which President Tom Kirkman lived his first day as the most powerful man in the United States. Kiefer Sutherland’s character stopped Governor Royce from arresting and assaulting Muslim people in Michigan and he met the opposing party’s designated survivor on his first day. So, what will happen in episode 3 of the ABC thriller?

As President Kirkman settles in his oval office, he will do his first interview. According to the official synopsis on ABC, the interview will take place at a time when his staff is working hard to keep a high-level security breach of the White House a secret.

Watch the preview of Season 1, episode 3 “The Confession,” below:

Judging from the promo, Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) will have to answer some difficult questions including one where the interviewer asks him if he was almost fired as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development moments before becoming the President. Will the mild-mannered President tell the truth to his people?

Meanwhile, the FBI will continue to investigate the Capitol bombing with agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) will develop her own theories on who the perpetrator of the attack might be. In episode 2, Wells told her boss that she has a hunch the people who orchestrated the bombing were not one of the usual suspects even though one bomb’s signature is similar to Al-Sakar. However, the FBI Deputy Director wanted her to come up with proof of her theory.

Hopefully, in episode 3, FBI Agent Wells will be able to gather some evidence to support her theory.

The promo also teases that Congressman Hookstraten (Virginia Madsen) isn’t entirely supportive of Kirkman’s presidency. She may have a hidden agenda.
