When ABC’s “Designated Survivor” returns in March, President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) won’t be the only one in trouble.

The White House Press Secretary Seth Wright (Kal Penn) has done a splendid job so far in keeping eager journalists from learning the juicy details about a number of high profile missions, arrests and murders. More importantly, he has kept the press from learning the details of Al-Sakar terrorist leader Majid Nassar’s (Nicholas Massouh) murder. But that might change soon.

An old-school journalist is going to come out from the shadows and question Seth about Nassar’s suspicious murder, according to a report by TVGuide. Surprisingly, he won’t only question him about the terrorist’s murder but also about his past. Things just got personal in “Designated Survivor.”

Fortunately, Seth knows this journalist and his secrets too. He may use these secrets to shut him down. The report hints that there may be battle between the two in the future.

“Designated Survivor” ended the first half of Season 1 with a member of Catalan’s group aiming a sniper at Kirkman during the swearing-in ceremony of the country’s newest Vice President, Peter MacLeish (Ashley Zukerman). It was established that Peter and his wife (Lara Jean Chorostecki) are working with the same group of people who bombed the Capitol.

Fortunately, FBI Agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) was able to thwart the sniper’s aim by shooting at him. However, the shooter did manage to shoot someone. He didn’t put a bullet in Kirkman but her certainly put a bullet in someone close to him. The promo of episode 11 shows someone lying on the operating table.

Unfortunately, Hannah is going to be arrested for firing her gun during the Vice President’s inauguration ceremony.

“Designated Survivor” Season 1 returns March 8 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
