It’s the “Desperate Housewives” reunion we’ve all been waiting for! On Monday, Eva Longoria, who portrayed Gabrielle on the long-running series, revealed she and her TV husband Ricardo Chavira would be reuniting on the small screen when the actor makes a guest appearance on Longoria’s new NBC series “Telenovela.”

“@RicardoAChavira will be on an episode!” the 40-year-old actress revealed on Twitter, confirming Chavira’s anticipated debut on the soapy series. “He’s amazing and still my first love.”

In 2004, Chavira was cast as Carlos on "Desperate Housewives," Gabrielle’s devout husband who she consistently butt heads with throughout eight seasons of the Marc Cherry-created drama. But can fans expect that same, undeniable chemistry between Longoria and Chavira to occur on “Telenovela”? Fingers crossed!

In the Hollywood Reporter’s review of the sitcom, which will return to its regular time slot on Jan. 4, 2016 following its Monday night preview, it was divulged that there was a lack of connection between Longoria’s character Ana Sofia and Jenacarlos Canela’s Xavier Castillo. Perhaps that’s because Ana was tasked with acting alongside her real-life ex in the faux soap -- as the mother of his girlfriend.

"You're not playing my love interest ... you're playing my love interest's mom!" Xavier laughs at her after reading the script. This sparks an utterly horrific meltdown for Ana as she realizes she’s another actress to be typecast by Hollywood.

Here’s hoping Chavira’s mysterious character will help remind Ana that an actress 35 years of age and older can be so much more than just “mothers.”

“Telenovela” will return to the small screen Monday, Jan. 4, 2016 at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
