‘Devious Maids’
Brianna Brown will move on from “Devious Maids” to star in “Dynasty.” Lifetime

“Devious Maids” alum Brianna Brown will guest star in at least one episode of “Dynasty.” The CW pilot will see Brown giving life to an off-kilter woman named Claudia.

“Dynasty” was created by “Gossip Girls” creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and “Revenge” producer Sallie Patrick. The TV show will chronicle the lives of two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they try to take control and fight for their loved ones and fortune.

In the original series, Claudia was a mentally unstable woman who married Matthew Blaisdell (Bo Hopkins). She eventually married Blake’s gay son, Steven (Al Corley).

According to TV Line, the series will be told from the perspective of Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies), the daughter of a tycoon named Blake (Grant Show), as well as her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal (Nathalie Kelley). “Dynasty” also promises to expose a corrupt world that makes up one percent of the United States. Deals, betrayals and murders will also be featured throughout the show.

Meanwhile, Show, who also starred in “Devious Maids,” signed on to star in the reboot earlier this month. He will be succeeding John Forsythe, who starred in the original ABC series sometime in the 1980s. Original “Dynasty” creators Esther and Richard Shapiro will act as executive producers for the reboot.

The original “Dynasty” aired on television from 1981 to 1989. The soap was a direct response to CBS equally popular drama, “Dallas.” “Dynasty” was also dubbed as the no. 1 show in the United States in 1985. Other cast members include Linda Evans and Joan Collins, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As of late, the release date for the reboot is yet to be announced.
