Did 'Game of Thrones' Take Inspiration From Solange Knowles’ Wedding Gown For Khaleesi’s Latest Look?

Fans of HBO’s "Game of Thrones" were treated to another thrilling ride when the latest episode aired Sunday night. Aside from the exciting and tense scenes, it was also interesting to see a twin of Solange Knowles' wedding gown worn by Khaleesi in the episode.

"Game of Thrones" character Daenerys Targaryen looked like a queen with her golden curls and caped white attire in episode 7 of the popular series. But E!News reported on Monday that Khaleesi’s gown looked very similar to what Solange Knowles wore on her wedding day.

Singer Solange Knowles married music producer Alan Ferguson in New Orleans in November of last year. Vogue magazine gave readers a treat when they released first shots of the star’s wedding gown hours before she said “I do.”

The singer wore a stunning white gown created by Humberto Leon for Kenzo. Though the neckline rests much higher than Khaleesi's look, the overall structure is so similar that you might have been seeing a double.

While Khaleesi looked serene in her caped dress, Solange was the embodiment of a woman happy and in love. “Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love,” Solange told Vogue. “Everything was a labor of love.”

Knowles commissioned photographer Rog Walker to take the official wedding portraits, and the stunning all-female family montage that includes sister Beyoncé and mother Tina Knowles is a nod to the work of contemporary Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft.

Meanwhile, episode 7, titled “The Gift,” was an exciting and tense addition to Season 5. According to recaps from Forbes, there were many “gifts” to justify the episode’s name, such as Cersei’s bowl of venison for Margaery, Littlefinger’s “handsome young man” and a whole lot more. But none was more precious and exciting than that of Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister finally meeting face-to-face. This was not something taken from George R. R. Martin's novels.
