On Sunday, celebrities, athletes and those in the limelight gathered in Santa Monica, Calif. for the 2012 Do Something Awards by VH1 to celebrate the year's most charitable people.
The award show was held on Sunday with a broadcast set to air on Aug. 21 on VH1 hosted by Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson and Lamore Morris.
The Do Something Awards feature a star-studded lineup of celebrity presenters including Will Ferrell, Ashley Greene, Kelly Osbourne, Olivia Munn and Ben Affleck with performances by Flo-Rida and Kids These Days. Kathy Griffin and Zeko Direction did parodies in addition to the musical acts.
Katie Gomez won The Do Something Awards for her work with Educate2Envison, scoring a $100,000 grant for her charity.
"DoSomething.org has honored the nation's best young world-changers, 25 and under," since 1996, according to the website. "Do Something Award nominees and winners represent the pivotal 'do-ers' in their field, cause, or issue." The awards ceremony was first televised by VH1 in 2010, hosted by Jane Lynch.

Some of the best dressed of the night on the red carpet included Lea Michelle in Giogrio Armani who won the award in the Female Television Star category, Kristen Bell in a dress by Jenni Kayne and Jimmy Choo shoes, Ashley Greene in a Michael Kors dress, Nikki Reed in Lela Rose, and Olivia Munn in Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet.
Rapper will.i.am who won the award in the Musical Artist category shined on the red carpet wearing a dapper green suit with a vest. Actors Joe McHale, Ben Affleck and Cory Monteith all wore shades of black and grey for the occasion.
Others on the opposite end of the best dressed spectrum included Laura Govan of "Basketball Wives," who wore a skimpy cut-out snake print dress for the awards.
