“Doctor Who” Season 8 is scheduled to premiere Aug. 23.

The BBC released Friday another teaser trailer for “Doctor Who” Season 8, hinting at the return of an old enemy whose voice can be heard in the video.

The 15-second video teases Peter Capaldi as The Doctor, who is seen in the Tardis, while an unseen person is heard saying in a chilling voice: “I see into your soul, Doctor. I see beauty, divinity, hatred.”

According to reports, it is possible the voice in the teaser belongs to Davros, who is not only an archenemy of The Doctor but also the creator of the Daleks, who have often been called the Time Lord’s most terrifying foes.

The Daleks most recently appeared in “The Time of The Doctor,” the episode in which Matt Smith made his final appearance as the 11th incarnation of The Doctor. Capaldi made his “Doctor Who” debut in “The Day of The Doctor” before taking on the role full-time following the 2013 Christmas special.

The new season of “Doctor Who” will feature the Cybermen, among the most persistent enemies of The Doctor, in an episode that will also include guest star Michelle Gomez. Jenna Coleman will return as The Doctor’s companion, Clara Oswald, while Samuel Anderson will join the cast in a recurring role as Danny Pink, who is an instructor at the Coal Hill School where Oswald also teaches.

Season 8 of the British science-fiction series is scheduled to premiere on BBC One Aug. 23.
