June 24 (Reuters) - The dollar pared gains againstthe euro on Thursday after U.S. economic reports on weekly initial jobless claims and durable goods orders for May posted largely in line with expectations.

The euro rose to $1.2285 EUR= from $1.2271 just before the release of the data, still down 0.2 percent on the day. The dollar rose to 89.44 yen JPY= after the data from around 89.32 prior to the release of the data, but still down 0.4 percent on the day. (Reporting by Nick Olivari, Editing by W Simon )
