The dollar was steady in Thursday trading in Tokyo as investors awaited further economic news to get a sense of the direction in the U.S. economy and its implications for a policy decision on interest rates from the Federal Reserve.

The dollar was steady at $1.4147 per euro from the same price at the end of active trading on Wednesday. The dollar was at 117.21 yen from 117.24 yen yesterday.

Today at 10:45 am, Federal Reserve Governor Randall Kroszner will speak at the National Bankers Association National Convention in North Carolina.
