June 11 (Reuters) - The dollar edged up against the yen on Friday as data showed U.S. consumer sentiment improved in June, boosted by better job and credit conditions.

The dollar rose to 91.65 yen JPY= from around 91.50 and was up about 0.3 percent on the day. It had surrendered those gains earlier after weaker-than-expected U.S. retail sales data. The euro was trading up 0.1 percent at $1.2116 EUR= from around $1.2100 before the data.
