Stocks neared their best close in 10 weeks on Monday and the Dow and S&P 500 rose more than 2 percent as a weaker U.S. dollar helped boost energy and raw materials sectors.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 209.50 points, or 2 percent, to 10,675.44. The Standard & Poor's 500 <.SPX> added 24.15 points, or 2.19 percent, to 1,125.75. The Nasdaq Composite <.IXIC> rose 43.22 points, or 1.92 percent, to 2,297.92.
