The doctor who was at the side of Michael Jackson when he died in June and has become the center of the star's death investigation has released a video message thanking supporters for their encouraging messages.

I want to thank all of my patients and friends who sent such kind e-mails, letters and messages, to let me know of your support and prayers for me and my family, Murray said in the one-minute clip on YouTube, which Access Hollywood has confirmed is authentic.

This is the first time Murray spoke out since the death of the King of Pop.

The video was recorded last week at a private residence in Houston, said Miranda Sevcik, the spokeswoman for Murray's lawyer, the Associated Press reported.

Murray told his supporters that because of all that is going on he has been afraid to return calls or use his email.

Please, don't worry. As long as I keep God in my heart and you in my life, I will be fine. I have done all I could do. I told the truth, and I have faith that truth will prevail.
