Draya Michele’s due date is approaching fast, and over the weekend the former “Basketball Wives: LA” star and her fiancé Orlando Scandrick hosted their baby shower. Draya, wearing in a long white flowing dress, was surrounded by family and friends for the special occasion including rapper Wale, celebrity hair stylist Ray D., beauty guru Zena Foster, model Heather Sanders and her boyfriend T-Rell.
Draya’s close friend and “Basketball Wives: LA” star Angel Brinks was also photographed at the event, along with Draya’s 13-year-old son Kniko and Scandrick’s 6-year-old twin daughters, Tatiana and Taylor. See photos from the baby shower below:
A few days before her baby shower, Draya gave fans an update on her pregnancy by posting a photo of her baby bump and writing that she had about a month and half left until her due date. “58 mo’ days,” she posted on Instagram Friday. “Or less if Jesus himself wants to make this happen in like 50 days. I’ll be a good girl all summer.”
In another Instagram post from last week, the former VH1 star lashed out at fans who seemed concerned about her pregnancy and the size of her baby bump. Posting a workout photo, Draya wrote: “Me at the gym on snap the other day. 31 weeks … And for those of you concerned with my health … My son is measuring a week ahead, meaning he’s bigger than usual. I’m on track to having an 8lb baby. So far I have gained 12lbs and my baby is a healthy 3.75lbs right now.”
Draya continued saying she likes to walk on the treadmill twice a day because it relieves some of her pregnancy symptoms.
“I’m suffering from lower back pain and the only thing that relieves me is walking,” she explained. “My hips and pelvis stiffen up throughout the day and night so I walk to loosen things up. I know you are comparing my pregnancy to your own and maybe a few other people you may follow. But this is MY pregnancy, and my family, friends, and Doctor all believe I’m taking the right steps to delivering my little guy the most natural and drug free way possible.”
As previously reported, Draya and the Dallas Cowboys player revealed in January they are expecting their first child together. A few weeks after the announcement, the pair called off their engagement but quickly got back together.
