eHarmony settles lawsuit over same-sex matching

eHarmony Inc, which operates a website to help singles find relationships, said on Tuesday that it settled a class action lawsuit over same-sex matching.

All claims against the company will be dismissed and a $2 million settlement fund will be established, eHarmony said, with $500,000 designated as a fund for claims by the class.

eHarmony, based in Pasadena, California, did not admit any wrongdoing or liability by settling the case, which was filed in 2007 on behalf of a class of gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals in California who alleged they were unable to use the website to be matched with same-sex partners.
