Rumors have swirled for weeks that talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi are headed for divorce, and now a supposed “tell-all” about their 10-year relationship is coming out, Radar Online reports. Randy Jernigan told the gossip site his new book, “The Life and Career of Ellen DeGeneres,” will expose many of her secrets when it’s published in September.

The author claimed most of the problems in their relationship stemmed from de Rossi's insecurities. In the past, the "Arrested Development" star has publicly discussed her struggles with anorexia and bulimia. She even shared her diagnosis with the dangerous liver disease cirrhosis.

“She loves attention because she’s secretly so insecure,” the author said of the 41-year-old actress. “She also hates that her career is in the dumps.”

But the couple has long had problems, the writer said. “Many fans don’t know that Ellen and Portia have had a very tumultuous romance since the very beginning,” said Jernigan, who says he spoke with more than a dozen of the 56-year-old talk show host’s friends and work associates for the expose.

Despite all the drama, the thing that keeps the couple together is their intense love. “They both care for each other very much,” he said, “but neither is good at the whole give and take aspect of a relationship.”

In June the couple faced rumors that de Rossi was jealous of her wife’s friendship with “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara. Some inferred DeGeneres’ relationship with the Colombian actress was more than platonic, but those rumors began to fade once Vergara was linked to “True Blood” star Joe Manganiello.
