Ellen DeGeneres has recovered from a heart scare after being rushed off to hospital when she started to complain about chest pain in a meeting at her show.

First of all, I'm fine. Let me just say, I'm fine. I don't know what it is but I'm fine. The paramedics were strippers that I had called. That's how the rumors got started, she joked in the opening of her show on Monday

The comedian told her audience that she has woken up on Sunday night feeling heavy chest pains, as if two cats were weighing down on it.

The pain worsened on Monday, where DeGeneres was pulled out of a producers meeting at the Warner Bros Studios where her show The Ellen DeGeneres Show is filmed.

The 53- year old said she called the paramedics just to be safe, but joked later that they had over reacted after sending 50 trucks and vans to the studios, TMZ reported.

DeGeneres concluded the opening monologue to her show saying, I want to say thank you to all the paramedics and the nurses who showed up and everybody and TMZ for caring so much...I appreciate it.

On the topic on health, Curb your Enthusiasm Star, Wanda Sykes appeared on the DeGeneres show on Monday to talk about her battle with breast cancer.

The 47-year-told revealed that she found out she had breast cancer when she went to get a breast reduction. I had real big boobs and I just got tired of knocking over stuff. Every time I eat - oh lord, Sykes told Ellen. I'd carry a Tide stick everywhere I go. My back was sore so it was time to have a reduction.

Because of the long history of cancer on her mother's side of the family, Sykes opted to have a bilateral mastectomy. I had both breasts removed, because now I have zero chance of having breast cancer, she said.

Sykes had been reluctant about opening up to the public about her illness. I was like, I don't know, should I talk about it or what? How many things could I have? I'm black, then Lesbian. I can't be the poster child for everything, she said.
