“The Office” star Ellie Kemper is officially engaged to writer Michael Koman. Koman wrote for shows like “Eagleheart,” “The Colbert Report” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”

Fittingly, Kemper confirmed the couple’s engage in an interview with O’Brien (video below).

“Does your family like Michael?” asked O’Brien.

“Yes. They like him a lot!” answered Kemper.

However, Kemper said her “tough” WWII veteran grandfather “grilled” Koman a few years ago and suggested (using pie as an analogy) that she keep her “options open.”

Kemper, 31, was born in Kansas City and grew up in St. Louis. She is mostly known for her role as Erin Hannon in hit TV show “The Office.”

Although her character is not the focus of the show (compared to characters like Pam, Jim and Michael), Kemper has won widespread admiration from fans and critics alike.

“Erin’s high-grade adorability, up-for-anything attitude and sheer niceness is unlike anyone else in the office, adding a welcome new wrinkle for next season,” wrote Joshua Ostroff of Eye Weekly.
