Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, has grown up in the spotlight. The British actress was only nine when she first appeared as the feisty mudblood witch in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and ever since, she has captivated fans around the world.

Although Watson is known for her fiery role as the best friend of Harry Potter, Watson will be appearing in more teen-adult centric films, such as My Week with Marilyn (2011) and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012).

Since the age of six, Watson knew she wanted to be an actress, but due to her early casting in the Harry Potter films, her career has not afforded her many roles outside the Potter world. For her role in My Week with Marilyn, Watson plays a wardrobe assistant. The film follows Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), the assistant of Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh), during the shooting of a film with Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams). The producer, Harvey Weinstein said of Watson, For 10 years [Emma] has been this schoolgirl in the Harry Potter films and now you see her as a woman for the first time.

Next year, Watson will appear in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, in which she plays the friend of an introverted boy, Charlie. Her character, Sam, introduces Charlie to the world of sex, drugs and relationship complications. The film also stars Paul Rudd (I Love you, Man and Role Models), and Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries).
