While most actors are thrilled to be nominated for an Emmy, even more of them desperately want to win the award -- except for “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul. He said he would like to see co-star Jonathan Banks take the honor home, Us Weekly wrote Sunday.

Each of the “Breaking Bad” cast members is nominated as outstanding supporting actor in a drama series, but Paul, who plays Jesse Pinkman, thinks it should be Banks, who portrays Mike Ehrmantraut, who walks away with the gold statue. “Aaron isn’t hoping he wins an Emmy. He really wants Jonathan Banks, 66, who plays Mike Ehrmantraut to win. Aaron is genuinely rooting for him,” a source told the celebrity-news site.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t some tough competition for the award. Also contending in the category are Bobby Cannavale of “Boardwalk Empire,” Jim Carter of “Downton Abbey,” Peter Dinklage of “Game of Thrones” and Mandy Patinkin of “Homeland.”

Paul, 34, has won the award in the category twice -- in 2010 and in 2012. “Breaking Bad” is in its fifth and final season, so it could be Banks’ last chance to take the award home in the context of this crime drama. The last two episodes of the groundbreaking series will be shown on AMC this Sunday and Sept. 29.

Us Weekly’s source said Paul and his wife Lauren Parsekian will look stunning when they walk the red carpet. “Aaron and Lauren are really such a good, sweet, happy couple,” the source said of the duo, who have been married since May.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards presentation at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles is set to begin on CBS at 8 p.m. EDT. Live-stream footage of the event can be seen here.
