Tiana on Empire
Tiana (Serayah, left) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray, right) dated for half of "Empire" Season 1. Serayah will be reprising her role as a series regular in Season 2. Fox

Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) and Tiana (Serayah) may not be done with each other after all on Fox's "Empire." The "Bad Girl" singer will be featured all throughout Season 2.

Deadline reports that Serayah has been bumped up to a series regular for "Empire" Season 2. In the first season, Hakeem and Tiana dated until he discovered she was involved with another woman. Tiana is also one of the artists Hakeem's mother Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) manages for the record label. She appeared in six episodes in Season 1.

It will be interesting to see what type of role Tiana will play in Season 2, after it was announced earlier in July that Hakeem would have a new love interest. According to E! Online, the youngest Lyon child will try to win over a singer named Laura, but she won’t be won over by his “romantic intentions.”

Serayah joins Gabourey Sidibe and Ta’Rhonda Jones, who also were promoted to series regulars for season 2, according to TVLine. Sidibe plays Becky, Lucious Lyon's (Terrence Howard) assistant, while Jones is Cookie's assistant. Showrunner Ilene Chaiken told TVLine, "We love them both, and we want them both back as ongoing characters on the show."

Meanwhile, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Kelly Rowland are reported to be guest starring in Season 2, according to E! Online. Last season featured guest spots by stars such as Cuba Gooding Jr., Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle and Raven-Symoné.

Lucious, Cookie and the rest of the Lyon family are in for more drama this season as tensions rise among the three Lyon sons -- Andre (Trai Byers), Jamal (Jussie Smollet) and Hakeem for control of “Empire.”

“Empire” Season 2 premieres Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
