Injured Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has yet to appear in public. Rumors that he has died persist.

Government officials in Yemen and Washington D.C. reported earlier this morning that the president was lightly wounded by a two-missile attack on the mosque located in his palace compound.

The president was attending Friday prayers when the blasts struck. The attack is attributed to a tribal group supporting opposition forces.

The government officials said that Saleh would appear on national television just hours after the attack to counter rumors, spread by opposition media, that the president had been killed.

It's late Friday night in the Gulf, and Yemeni opposition and loyalist wait to see if the 33-year-long Saleh regime has finally come to an end.
