The euro extended losses against the yen on Tuesday as funding concerns in the euro zone and a fall in Asian stocks prompted investors to sell the single European currency, while Japanese exporters repatriated their overseas profits before the second quarter ends.

The euro was down 0.9 percent at 108.73 yen EURJPY=R after dropping as low as 108.62 yen, its lowest in three weeks. (Reporting by Rika Otsuka)
