David Robinson, an NBA Hall of Fame star, is venturing further into the real estate investment world.

Admiral Capital Group, a private equity investment company founded by Robinson and Daniel Bassichis, has formed a partnership with USAA Real Estate Co. to create the Admiral Capital Real Estate Fund.

USAA Real Estate has also committed up to $50 million to the partnership. The fund, along with contributions from other third-party investors, will focus on acquiring commercial real estate properties nationwide.

The establishment of the fund complements Admiral Capital Group's existing portfolio of real estate and hospitality investments. It already owns stakes in Centerplate, one of the world's largest hospitality companies focused on entertainment and convention venues, and two select service hotels.
