Star Korean actress Han Ye Seul (Leslie Kim) caused a national uproar in her home country by refusing to show up for the shooting of the show Spy MyeongWol. Now, she is back in Korea to do resume her work.

Han played the female leading role of a North Korean spy in the TV drama. When she failed to show up for shooting on last Sunday, TV network Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) was forced to air a special episode on Monday that merely compiled clips from the past 10 episodes.

Han hopped on a plane and escaped to Los Angeles, Calif., where the U.S.-born actress' parents lived. She was confirmed to have arrived by Tuesday, according to the Korea Times.

Why did Han run away from her starring role?

Her agency said she was exhausted due to the hectic schedule so that she couldn't judge things properly, damaging others. The agency said they spoke to the star on the phone and that she promised to be back soon.

Han returned to Korea on Wednesday afternoon local time, wearing the same dress she had on when she left, reported the Chosunilbo.

I think the public got to know just how tough working conditions are for us. I hope that there will be no more victims, she said to reporters upon her return.

I felt that change would not be possible unless I did what I did, she said.

CNN GO pointed out that the fact that KBS was forced to air a 'special episode' on Monday night summarizing the previous 10 episodes just because a single day's shooting was scuppered seems to lend some weight to Han's claim about extreme working conditions.
