Facebook Goes Down For Some Users: Internet Panics As Fans Take To Twitter To Vent Frustrations

Facebook went down briefly on Thursday for currently-unknown reasons, causing panic on rival social network Twitter. Facebook did not immediately say why the site was down for some users, but its developer page indicated a problem.

Luckily, the panic was short-lived.

It is not clear at this stage why the social network went down, but with over one billion users and one of the busiest websites on the internet, the traffic may have been too much for Facebook to handle for a brief moment.
