A New York man was shot by two men pretending to be UPS deliverymen with holiday packages Thursday morning, according to WABC.

Officials said the men knocked on the door in the Astoria neighborhood in the borough of Queens around 10:15 a.m. pretending to have a package.

When the victim, a 53-year-old man, came to the door, the “deliverymen” kicked it open and shot him. The victim was hit in the leg and taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. The man is a father of two, according to WINS.

Nothing was taken from the victim's home. The two suspects fled the scene and detectives are investigating the motive for the shooting.

The New York incident wasn't the first time that a UPS uniform has led to a crime.

In December 2016, surveillance footage caught a man dressed up as a UPS truck driver knocking on the door of Houston home. When the homeowner came to the door the man and three others forced their way in, armed with guns, according to ABC News. The men beat the homeowner and stole jewelry and collectible firearms.

In Pompano Beach, Florida, in 2014, an armed robber posing as a UPS driver forced his way into a woman's home and stole her cell phone.
