The last week of September is when fall TV season kicks into high gear. Plenty of fan favorites will have season premieres this week, and several new series will start too.

Comedy fans will want to tune into CBS on Monday night. “The Big Bang Theory” Season 11 premieres at 8 p.m. EDT, and it will show Amy (Mayim Bialik) answering Sheldon’s proposal. However “Big Bang” fans can get a double dose of Sheldon Cooper on Sept. 25. “Young Sheldon” premieres right after the flagship show. The single camera comedy will show Sheldon (“Big Little Lies” star Iain Armitage) attending high school as a 9-year-old.

CBS’ other new comedy is “Me, Myself & I,” which follows the life of Alex Riley at three very different times in his life. Audiences will see him in 1991 as a 14-year-old (Jack Dylan Grazer) who just moved to Los Angeles, as a frustrated 40-year-old (Bobby Moynihan) in the present day and as 65-year-old (John Larroquette) in 2042 who decides to step away from a successful company.

Big Bang Theory The Voice premiere
“The Big Bang Theory” Season 11 and “The Voice” Season 13 both premiere at 8 p.m. EDT on Monday, Sept. 25. CBS, NBC

“Kevin Can Wait” will also return for Season 2, but a key cast member will be missing. Donna (Erinn Hayes) has died, and the show will pick up after a time jump. Taking Hayes’ place as the female lead will be former “King of Queens” star Leah Remini.

Those who prefer reality TV have their choice of competition shows. “The Voice” returns to NBC for Season 13 with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson in the judges’ chairs. The premiere will show the first round of blind auditions. Over on the Food Network, “Halloween Baking Championship” will show off some festive treats. Eight bakers will have to make candy-filled cookies and desserts that are filled with slime.

Those who prefer their drama to be scripted have a few options tonight. In the “Scorpion” Season 4 premiere, Paige (Katharine McPhee) and Walter (Elyes Gabel) will explore their new relationship, but the whole team will struggle when they have to work with an old nemesis.

Elsewhere, new dramas will be starting. ABC’s “The Good Doctor” follows a young doc (Freddie Highmore) on the autism spectrum with the potential to be one of the best medical professionals in the country. NBC’s “The Brave,” starring Anne Heche and Mike Vogel, is a new military drama about an elite special ops team that saves people all over the world.
