“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling thinks she has found the perfect actor to play Gellert Grindelwald in Johnny Depp.

Rowling said that Depp has the amazing ability to take on different roles, and his performance in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is no exception.

“Watching him create a character is fascinating,” Rowling told MTV News. “It’s been quite inspiring to me as the writer. I feel he's got quite an interesting approach to creating a character. It's a privilege to work with someone like that. It's very similar to the way Eddie [Redmayne] works and moves around and inhabits the character [of Newt]. The physicality is exactly right.”

Rowling already hinted that Grindelwald and his former friend Albus Dumbledore will have a major duel for the Elder Wand. Rowling, however, isn't spilling all the beans on the nature of the relationship between the two great wizards.

“This is something that I knew a lot about when I was writing Potter, but it was pre-history,” she said. “It was hinted at in the Potterverse. Now I get the chance to say what I know.”

Fans can look forward to four more movies after the Newt Scamander-starrer premieres this November, Rowling announced. “We always knew it was going to be more than one movie,” said Rowling, according to Slate. “We’ve now done the plotting properly, so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be five movies.”

The movie will follow the adventures of magizoologist Newt (Eddie Redmayne) as he goes in search for magical creatures in America. Redmayne told IGN that it has been both “extraordinary” and “amazing” working as Newt, and he is quite excited for the film’s release and the movies to follow.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” directed by David Yates, will be released on Nov. 18.
