The Fast and Furious franchise will see another chapter in 2013, the sixth one in the series.

Universal Pictures will reassemble its ensemble cast for their most ‘dangerous adventure’ yet, according to the Studio . Vin Diesel is teaming up with Justine Lin again to produce and direct the film respectively. It will be Lin’s fourth stint behind the cameras for the Fast series.

Universal chairman Adam Fogelson in a recent interview to Deadline.com said:“The question putting ‘Fast Five’ and ‘Fast Six’ together for us was: Can we take it out of being a pure car culture movie and into being a true action franchise in the spirit of those great heist films made 10 or 15 years ago?”

The Fast and Furious franchise is one of the most successful in movie history. The Fast Five posted the biggest opening weekend for Universal and is expected to go past the $600 million mark in the coming weeks.

Other movies lined up for the 2013 summer release are IronMan 3, Despicable Me2, The Dark Tower R.I.P.D. and The Turbo.
