Two weeks after Officer Peter Figoski was shot to death, his partner and commanding officer were promoted in a ceremony in Downtown Manhattan.

Officer Glenn Estrada was promoted to detective and Inspector Jeffery Maddrey was named deputy chief. Estrada chased down and arrested Lamont Pride, the man who allegedly shot and killed Figoski, reported NY1.

Figoski was posthumously promoted to the detective first grade. A scholarship fund for Figoski's four daughters raised about $1.2 million.
