The Flash
Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) is featured in the latest promo for "The Flash" Season 2. The CW

Bigger. Badder. Faster. That's the promise of a new teaser promo for Season 2 of "The Flash" on the CW. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the sophomore run (no pun intended) of the series and its superhero speedster, and now they have their first look at what is in store when the show returns. The appropriately quick trailer is only 10 seconds, but that's enough time to tease two of the villains from the new episodes, as well as something that can only be described as a "Flash signal."

The promo, which made its way online Wednesday after debuting on the CW, previews the return of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), as well as the debut of Atom Smasher. Fans knew Captain Cold would be back. After initially offering to help transfer the meta-human prisoners to safety during Barry's (Grant Gustin) battle with Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanaugh), the criminal betrayed Barry and allowed the majority of the bad guys the S.T.A.R. Labs team had spent Season 1 capturing go free. It would be safe to say Barry and Captain Cold have unfinished business.

Meanwhile, Atom Smasher will be a new addition to the series. Comic fans will recognize the character and his trademark mask as Albert Rothstein, a man who develops the ability to manipulate molecular structure giving him superhuman strength. Rothstein was mentioned by name in the first season as someone killed in the particle accelerator explosion. Apparently he is not dead after all. Wrestler Adam Copeland will portray Albert Rothstein in the CW series.

Rothstein joins several new faces on "The Flash" in Season 2 including, Kid Flash/Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), and a new love interest for Barry, Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten).

The promo also shows a spotlight with a lightning bolt symbol attached to it -- essentially Batman's "bat signal" re-tooled for Barry Allen. Is this how Joe (Jesse Martin) and the Central City Police will contact Barry now?
