Chelsea are on the verge of signing their second Drogba.

Here's the pick of the day's transfer rumours and news from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Arsenal have signed Southampton winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a fee believed to be around the region of £12 million. He agreed personal terms and passed his medical on Monday.

Arsenal's pursuit of a central defender have increased in urgency after an injury to Vermaelen and reports suggest that Chief scout Steve Rowley has been sent to watch Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill. Cahill has been long linked to Arsenal and although the 25-year-old has a £17 million release clause, they are hoping to pay less due to the fact that he is already into the final 12 years of the contract.

Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker is another reported Arsenal target, and a deal looks all the more likely after the German side stated that they would consider "serious offers."

Arsenal are also reportedly close to completing a deal for Costa Rican youngster Joel Campbell for a fee believed to be £1 million.

Romelu Lukaku is set to be officially unveiled as Chelsea's third signing this week after he arrived at London on Monday morning to take the medical at Chelsea's training ground at Cobham. A fee of £20 million was agreed with Anderlecht on Saturday.

Yuri Zhirkov has officially completed his move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Chelsea have cited Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic as a long-term replacement for John Terry, and the player himself is looking for a move to England.

Manchester United

Manchester United top target Wesley Sneijder could soon be subject to a bid from the champions after the Dutchman admitted that Inter Milan would sell him for the right price.
