"Brallie" shippers got their wish. At the end of episode 9 of "The Fosters" Season 3, Brandon (David Lambert) snuck into Callie's (Maia Mitchell) room and the pair had sex. Now fans, and the couple, have to live with the consequences. For Callie, that might mean blowing her chances of the court approving her adoption. David Lambert, who plays Brandon on the ABC Family series, says how Brandon and Callie handle their new secret will be a major plot point in the upcoming summer finale.

Speaking to TV Line, David Lambert explained why Brandon and Callie could not resist each other in episode 9, and teased the uneasy aftermath of the hot and heavy hook-up.

"They were under the impression that there was no hope for Callie [to get adopted]. That is sort of their reasoning," explained Lambert. "It might not be the greatest reasoning. But they were so tired of that reason, that when that reason was not there anymore, they almost got too excited about it and jumped the gun a little bit and went for it. Things may not pan out the way that they had predicted. So now they’re going to come back to reality. Now they have this sort of regret that they have to share. That’s the question: What do they do with that little secret now?"

And what does this mean for Callie's adoption? That's the question that will be plaguing viewers until the finale.

"It’s one of those things where Callie assumes a little too much," says Lambert. "It’s a matter of whether or not [the adoption] actually plays out like that. If Callie isn’t getting adopted, then I guess they have nothing to worry about. There is a complication in the last episode, for sure."

That complication looks to be Rita (Rosie O'Donnell). The promo for episode 10 reveals that after receiving the audio of Carmen (Alicia Sixtos) clearing her name, Rita wants to appear in court to vouch for Callie's adoption. Ironically, that audio, where Callie admits to some of her previous trysts with Brandon, was the reason she thought her adoption was doomed -- leaving her free to sleep with Brandon -- in the first place. Now she may have to sit on the new secret if she wants to stay a part of the family.

Will Callie confess to sleeping with Brandon? Fans will have to wait to find out. "The Fosters" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC Family.
