They might have both grown up in the celebrity spotlight and modeled as teenagers, but the similarities between Frances Bean Cobain and Kendall Jenner appear to end there. The daughter of grunge legend Kurt Cobain and Hole singer Courtney Love took to Twitter Tuesday to lash out at the 17-year-old reality star and model for allegedly having a low IQ and being “self-absorbed.”

The trouble started when Jenner tweeted, “just wish things could be easier sometimes mann.” The exasperated plea garnered the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star nearly 9,500 retweets, but many of the responses took her to task for sounding “ungrateful.”

@kendalljenner can you believe her? Silver spoon and all!” Twitter user @TheBravoBlonde wrote. “Just buy another range rover babes you'll be fine xox” @tez_xo90 wrote.

But the harshest response came from Cobain, who suggested that Jenner needed to reevaluate her priorities. “oh shh. There are kids on earth abandoned&homeless who forcibly drink contaminated water because clean water isn't accessible,” Cobain tweeted. ”oh ya, not to mention, CANCER, famine, poverty, draught, disease, natural disasters, Death. F---, Humans are so self involved.”

And Cobain didn’t stop there. “I'd like to thank my parents for providing me with a high IQ & I'd like to thank my grams for encouraging me not to be a self absorbed idiot” she added. Although Cobain didn’t mention her mother, Courtney Love, with whom she’s had a feud through the years, singling out her grandmother instead, Love inserted herself into the Twitter conversation.

“id like to thank your grams for being a good grams i will always love her [sic]” Love tweeted. When a follower wrote to Frances, “I would like to join the high IQ parté” Love responded, “its in the blood dude, our family is like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts.”

Cobain famously filed a restraining order against her mother in 2009, alleging that Love was addicted to drugs and had a hoarding habit. By Thursday, Jenner had deleted the tweet from her feed, but she did not publicly respond to Cobain nor comment on the incident.
