A full senate vote for President Obama's Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is likely to be held the week of August 3, just ahead of the Senate's summer recess after a panel voted mostly along partiesan lienes to advance her nomination today.

The full Senate will probably not begin debate on Sotomayor's confirmation until next week, although a schedule has not been determined, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told the Washington Post.

The Senate begins its summer recess on August 9.

On Tuesday, a Senate Judicieary Committee voted 13-6 in favor of Sotomayor to become an associate justice of the Supreme Court.

The vote is being held nearly two weeks after the Senate questioned her for two and a half days on her judicial views.
