Stock index futures rebounded on Friday after heavy falls put the S&P 500 on course for its worst week in two months, with the index facing a key test of strength at its 50-day moving average.

S&P 500 futures rose 8.7 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration of the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures gained 75 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 11 points.
