The S&P 500 and Dow index futures turned negative on Tuesday after data showed U.S. housing starts and permits fell in April.

S&P 500 futures fell 1.3 points and were below fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration of the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures lost 27 points while Nasdaq 100 futures fell 5.75 points.
