A senior Libyan official who left the Gaddafi camp has said the embattled leader will either commit suicide or will get killed and that the people's revolution is days, if not hours, away from victory.

Abdul Fattah Younis al Abidi, who resigned as the country's interior minister after he disagreed with Moammer Gaddafi's plan to carry out air strikes on protesters in Benghazi, told CNN in an interview that Gaddafi is a stubborn man who is not used to giving up.

He will either commit suicide or he will get killed, Abidi said. The senior most Gaddafi official to break ranks with him said he supports the revolution.

Abidi said he now supports the people and the revolution. Meanwhile, Libya's ambassadors to the United states and Bangladesh too joined the defectors and asked Gaddafi to resign.
