“Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington has cut off his trademark locks for a lockdown buzz cut.

Harington, who essayed Jon Snow in HBO’s fantasy series “Game of Thrones”, debuted his new look while walking his dog out in London.

The 33-year-old actor showcased his muscular physique in a tight-fitting turtleneck T-shirt, which he paired with jeans and a pair of grey suede boots.

Harington’s long curls were a staple during “Game of Thrones” and the actor had once expressed a desire to chop off his hair to make himself less recognisable as Jon Snow two years ago.

“I'd like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognisable as the character,” he told Entertainment Weekly in June 2018.

While Harington said he was only too happy to get rid off his hair, facial hair was another matter altogether since he likes his beard a lot.

“The beard will be harder to get rid of — I quite like the beard,” he told the publication.

Lockdowns imposed following the coronavirus pandemic have forced several celebrities to try out the buzz cuts.

“Line of Duty” actor Stephen Graham documented the process of getting his hair cut with the caption “lockdown locks!” , and actor Riz Ahmed on March 22 posted online a photograph of his shaved head. "Anyone else do a #Stayhome haircut that got outta hand? Least now it feels like there’s someone else here when I look in mirror," he wrote in the accompanying caption.

Many female celebrities, too, have experimented with their looks.

For instance, “Orange is the New Black” actress Ruby Rose shaved her own head but left a tiny braid on one side, and actress Emily Ratajkowski posted a photograph of hers flaunting a layered snip.

Several others opted to grow their facial hair.

Actor Jim Carrey documented his facial hair growth with the hashtag #letsgrowtogether. One post read: “Day 3. Beard growth seems slower in isolation. Already yearning for the life I had before all the stubble began.” Will Smith, who also decided to grow a beard, edited old clips from “Men in Black,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” and “Aladdin” showing beards photoshopped on to his face.
