Winter is here! A blizzard of epic proportions began Monday in the Northeast U.S. with as much as three feet of snow expected to fall in some areas. With the snowstorm closing in, a man who knows a thing or two about epic – “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin – chimed in on Twitter.

The author sent out a “Game of Thrones”-inspired tweet to his East Coast fans before the storm. The tweet showed a picture of a snowy plain – something straight from beyond the wall in the HBO series -- with a glass box containing a dragon glass dagger. A sign below the dagger reads, “In case of White Walkers, break glass.” Fans will remember that dragon glass is the only material proven effective against White Walkers in the series.

The blizzard, if not the cleanup, should be over in time for Thursday’s IMAX premiere of the last two episodes of Season 4. The one-week theatrical release was already delayed a week due to high demand, and fans might be frustrated if snowy roads delay the release any further. The first full trailer for Season 5 will debut during the showing of the two episodes.

In the meantime, viewers caught in the storm can catch up on Season 4 of "Game of Thrones" before Season 5 premieres on HBO airs on April 12.
