Rock star Gene Simmons has finally, after more than two decades of courtship, married his long-time girlfriend, actress Shannon Tweed. Simmons, 62, tied the knot with Tweed on Saturday, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The 400-odd guests, who included Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher and members of Kiss - Simmons' band - who attended the wedding cheered collectively, when Simmons said, I do, after the couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves.

54-year-old Tweed walked down the passageway in an ivory-colored Priscilla of Boston gown – one of three dresses she chose for the big occasion – and carried a bouquet of ivory garden roses, People magazine reported.

The couple have two children - Nicholas, 22, and Sophie, 19, both of whom attended the wedding, where Sophie was the maid of honor.
