Spinelli will look a little different soon. Bradford Anderson will be recast for a few episodes of “General Hospital” in 2017. However, it seems the man fans love as Spinelli won’t be gone from Port Charles for too long.

Anderson is leaving the ABC soap temporarily to take a role on “Homeland.” The 37-year-old actor is a big fan of the Emmy-award winning show, so he noted on Facebook that this job is exciting for him. However, he also revealed that the Showtime drama hired him at the last minute. There wasn’t time to write Spinelli out, so “General Hospital” had to find a new actor.

“And just wait til you see who they found... The perfect choice. I for one can't wait to watch,” Anderson wrote.

Blake Berris will take over the role, TVLine reports. He’ll play Spinelli for several episodes in mid-January. “Days of Our Lives” fans will remember that he played Nick Fallon on the NBC soap from 2006 to 2014. He also appeared on “Supergirl” and “Pretty Little Liars” this year. Anderson hopes his fans will embrace his replacement.

“I know some might rush to negativity, but I’d like to urge everyone to think about how unique our genre is, and how soaps truly embody the spirit of ‘the show must go on,’” Anderson wrote.

The replacement is only temporary. Berris took to Twitter to assure fans that his run would be short and noted that he’d have his own take on the role.

“General Hospital” airs weekdays on ABC.
