With the phrases Sexiest Man Alive and Most Eligible Bachelor, only one name comes to mind, George Clooney. The Oscar winning actor has been linked to one beautiful girl after another, but that doesn't stop pesky rumors of his sexuality.

Clooney, a campaigner for the legalization of same-sex marriage in the U.S., has had the rumor mill running for a long time, but the actor says the rumors only amuse him.

I think it's funny, but the last thing you'll ever see me do is jump up and down saying 'These are lies!' That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community, said Clooney to The Advocate, a gay and lesbian news magazine. I'm not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I'm very happy in it.

Clooney does his best to keep his life private, but the paparazzi make it hard for the actor. In August of last year Clooney broke things off with girlfriend of two years, Elisabetta Canalis. It wasn't shortly after that rumors of Clooney and Stacy Kiebler, a former WWE Diva, started heating up. The couple's relationship was finally made official when they walked the red carpet at the New York Film Festival for the premiere of Clooney's The Descendants.

For the actor, the gay rumors are just something to laugh about. Who does it hurt if someone thinks I'm gay? I'll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don't give a s---.

As for taking on a gay role in the film? Clooney said he's just waiting for the right screenplay.
