Germany sent out a subtle message to their contenders for Euro 2012 with a 3-0 thrashing of world cup finalists Netherlands at Hamburg on Tuesday.

It is unfair on the Dutch to read too much into a friendly, but a Miroslav Klose inspired Germany were sublime and sure favorites for the Euros.

Klose had a hand in all three German goals, scoring the second himself.

He set up Thomas Muller for the first, scored the second off a well-taken header before unselfishly squaring for Mesut Ozil to tap in the third from close range.

Germany have a perfect record from the group stages of qualifying, winning 10 from as many games, and will be one of the main contenders for the Euro title along with Spain.
