Gina Rinehart, the richest person in Australia could soon beat Carlos Slim, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, if the Citigroup’s predictions are correct.

Currently she owns $10.3 billion and her fortune quadrupled in the past one year.

Forbes reports, her net worth could rise as high as $100 billion as she has great control over vast tracts of the country's mineral-rich outback. She's built a business with a cash flow approaching $2 billion a year, with plans to develop more iron ore mines and to add coal to her inventory of mineral exports to Asia.

With the rise in iron ore prices and increase in exports to China, her fortune has taken an amazing jump.

Unlike most other rich women in the world—Christy Walton, Liliane Bettencourt, Rinehart is almost self made.
