Will Hannah (Lena Dunham) be able to encourage Elijah (Andrew Rannells) to raise her baby in “Girls” Season 6? HBO

“Girls” Season 6, episode 5 centered on Hannah (Lena Dunham) deciding whether or not keeping her baby is the right thing to do.

In “Gummies,” Hannah lists down all of the reasons why she shouldn’t keep her baby. She realizes that she will only be earning less than $24,000 a year by December, and she is also not in a relationship with her baby’s father. In order to help her with her ordeal, Hannah asks her mom to come over. However, instead of having a decent conversation with her, Hannah ends up taking care of her mom who had too much weed gummy worms.

Hannah gives up on her desire to find comfort from her mother and ends up reaching out to her roommate, Elijah (Andrew Rannells). The latter, who is high on Adderall, is shocked when he finds out that Hannah is with child. To make things worse, Hannah tells Elijah that she wants the two of them to raise her baby. Elijah tells Hannah that she will be a terrible mother so she would change her mind.

Meanwhile, Hannah, who couldn’t get anyone’s support, opened up to a stranger living in her apartment. She informs the stranger that she’s pregnant without knowing that she is the same woman who has been tapped to star in Adam (Adam Driver) and Jessa’s (Jemima Kirke) documentary. Hannah was previously in a relationship with Adam, so it’s possible that the latter will soon find out what’s going on in his ex’s life. In the end, Hannah’s pregnancy woes remain unresolved.

Elsewhere, Marnie (Allison Williams) and Ray (Alex Karpovsky) also have some issues of their own. The latter encourages the former that they should break up, but Marnie refuses to do so. Toward the end of the episode, she realizes that there are more reasons why they should let each other go, but she’s scared of acknowledging this to herself.

“Girls” Season 6 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.
