Gisele Bundchen has already made her mark in the fashion industry with being a Victoria's Secret model and the highest paid supermodel, but now it is her five-year-old niece's turn. Duda Bundchen is getting ready to launch her first fashion line with Brazilian kids-wear brand, Brandili Mundi.
Not many of us can launch a fashion line at the age of five. The partnership came about when Bundchen was asked to be a spokesmodel for the line last year. With the success of the line Bundchen's contract was extended to 2013 and Brandili Mundi gave her the chance to design her own line.
She told us about her preferences on prints, cuts and details, and based on the briefing we received from her we came up with a collaborative collection, Germano Costa, the commercial and marketing director of Brandili Textil, the parent company to Brandili Mundi said. The pieces were all approved by Duda, whose romantic inspiration will no doubt catch girls' eyes.
The eco-friendly fashion line, Duda Bundchen For Brandili Mundi, will hit stores in July. The campaign was recently shot in Bundchen's hometown of Porto Alegre with over thirty fashion producers, hairstylists, make-up artists, photographers, assistants and Bundchen's parents, Raquel Bundchen and Paulo Borges.
Bundchen will receive a percentage of the sales from the fashion line and another percentage will go to benefiting children with special needs. There has been no information released about how much the line will cost or if it will be available outside of Brazil.
Bundchen is not the only family member to have their own fashion line. Her aunt, Giselle Bundchen, launched a lingerie line last year in partnership with Hope, Brazil's version of Victoria's Secret. Instead of just licensing her name to the company, she created her own brand, Gisele Bundchen Brazilian Intimates. That gives her a stake in the company. The line is sold exclusively in Hope stores. In addition to the lingerie line, Bundchen has a sandal line and a cosmetics line. According to Forbes, all of her business ventures could put Bundchen in the billionaire stratosphere.
Bundchen is one of the youngest people to have her own fashion line. Cecilia Cassini is ten years old and has launched her own line making her the youngest in the U.S. Her line has picked up much attention nationally. Cassini has been cutting, sewing and designing clothes since she was four-years-old.
