Giuliana Rancic can’t seem to shake the unwanted spotlight in which she’s found herself as of late. After her slim frame caused a ruckus at the 87th Academy Awards, all eyes were on the 40-year-old E! News anchor to see what she would be wearing when she strutted down the red carpet at the Astra Awards held in Sydney, Australia, on Thursday, March 12.

Instead of opting for a skin-revealing frock, such as the pink dress Rancic wore at the 2015 Golden Globes, the “Fashion Police” host decided to don an embellished long-sleeve Alex Perry gown. Although the lengthy gown was a beautiful option, Rancic’s thin frame was still the topic of discussion. While speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the brown-haired attendee, who was sporting chic new bangs, addressed the flack she’s received over her petite figure and how she deals with the harassment regarding her weight. “I think the best thing to do, honestly, is not even talk about it. You know?” she began. “As long as you know the truth, that’s all that matters.”

This isn't the first time Rancic, who underwent a double mastectomy in 2011 after getting diagnosed with breast cancer, was forced to defend her body. During an appearance on HuffPost Live, the reporter struck back at those who would tell her to "eat a sandwich." "I know the truth," she stated. "I know that I eat a lot and I take walks and I have a faster metabolism." Although Rancic rarely responds to those who criticize her physique, she reportedly has an army of fans who stick up for her on social media. "I don't respond, but so many people get really upset. And they're like, 'Oh really? Eat a sandwich? What a great comment. Or people say, 'She's been through cancer. Really? That's what you're going to put out?"' she revealed.

The “Fashion Police” co-star is no stranger to bullying. She’s also found herself on the other side of that spectrum. After the 2015 Oscars, Rancic commented on actress Zendaya Coleman’s dreadlocks. The fashion critic attempted to make a joke, accusing the 18-year-old starlet of smelling like patchouli and weed. But instead of getting the laughs she had hoped for, Rancic received a slew of criticism regarding her controversial comments.

Since the joke heard around the world, Rancic has apologized for the remark. “I think her apology was very sincere, and as she said, she’s learned a lot about what she said,” Sharon Osbourne said on “The Talk.” “I think we all make mistakes on TV. I put my foot in my mouth so many times. She fessed up, and at the end of the day, she owned it.” Despite the chaos surrounding Rancic’s weight and her offensive statement, the TV personality has managed to continue onward with her journalistic duties at the Astra Awards.
