“Glee’s” fifth season is set to premiere on Thursday, Sept. 26, and now viewers don’t have to wait until episode 3 to find out the details regarding the Cory Monteith tribute. The episode synopsis for “The Quarterback” has leaked online and you can find out how McKinley High School and New Directions will deal with the death of Finn Hudson.

According to the episode description on Spoiler TV, former members of New Directions will return to their old high school to remember Finn. However the synopsis doesn’t the cause of Finn’s sudden death.

Everyone will be grieving the loss of Finn in their own way. Mr. Schue will encourage the gleeks to “memorialize him in the way we do everything – by singing about it.” Kurt, Burt and Carole will sort through Finn’s belongings and bond as a family. Santana will struggle with her “’b*tch’ mask to hide her fond feelings for Finn. Puck will turn to Coach Beiste for help coping with Finn’s loss and decides to honor his friend’s memory by “making a life-changing decision about his future.” And Emma’s afraid that Will is too busy making sure the others are okay to make time for himself to grieve.

Lea Michele, Cory Monteith’s on-and-off screen girlfriend, is noticably absent from the episode 3 description for "The Quarterback." She will only reportedly appear at the end of the tribute episode and is rumored to perform a “limited but incredibly powerful song.”

The song list for the Cory Monteith tribute episode has not been confirmed, but Wetpaint.com is reporting that the rumored track list is as follows:

-“If I Die Young” by The Band Perry’s -- to be performed by Santana (Naya Rivera)

-“I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders – to be performed by Mercedes (Amber Riley)

-“Seasons Of Love” from “RENT” – to be performed by New Directions

-“Fire And Rain” by James Taylor – performance unknown

Cory Monteith passed away on July 31 at the age of 31. The actor accidentally overdosed on heroin and alcohol.
