Rockstar Games has added a new mode for “Grand Theft Auto Online,” just in time for Thanksgiving and any major football game happenings. The new game mode is called “Running Back” and is part of the online game’s familiar “Adversary Mode,” which already has a number of unique gameplay features.

According to the Rockstar Newswire, two teams comprised of four-to-eight players square off on the opposite sides of a roadway. The two teams are red and blue so no one will be confused and wear football gear, because football is very popular during Thanksgiving.

While most of the players will be in dune buggies, one player will be riding a Benefacto Panto. This player must race through the opposing team and go to the other side of the road to claim victory for his team. This will not be an easy task however; as the opposing team will smash and crash the car to make sure the player doesn’t go through.

Players in the same team will have to work together in order to win the game, whether they’re making sure the player goes through the other side or successfully preventing him or her from doing so. It’s basically football without the ball and plenty of cars crashing on each other, which sounds like it will be an explosive multiplayer mode.

The three modes will be playable on three different locations: Rayton Canyon Bridge, La Mesa Bridge and Zancudo Tunnel.

IGN has confirmed that “Running Back” will only be available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. It seems like the heists update was the last one that PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will be seeing, as “Running Back” will not arrive on those consoles.

Despite coming out on last-gen consoles first, it looks like the developers in Rockstar have decided to focus on the current-gen versions of the game, along with the PC version. This could be seen as disappointing, but it was inevitable, since last-gen consoles are slowly phasing out.

“Grand Theft Auto V” is available now on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. “Running Back” for “Adversary Mode” is now available as a free update on the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions only.
